The Adam Allsortz Show made Waves at the Nation Autistic Society's Award Ceremony for Their Super Swimmers Academy
I was More than Happy to Come and Support such a Brilliant Program
I received a call from Lynda from the National Autistic Society asking me to come and do some entertainment for their Awards Ceremony for their Super Swimmers Academy.
I was more than happy to accept but must admit a little apprehensive as a to how it might go. Lynda spoke to me a little on how some of the children may react to the show and I did my own bit of on-line research to prepare too.
I received a call from Lynda 10 mins before I was due to arrive as they were going through the award part of the ceremony a little quicker than expected and she was just making sure I was on my way. I think this is what led me to get set up and start so promptly (in fact with a little chuckle and giggle from the audience I was asked to stop by one of the other organisers who told me to wait for some stragglers to finish lunch, good to be keen hey?).
I am so happy to report that the show was a success; with me calling on my ten years experience working with all kids of children, although some children didn't watch the whole show there was a loyal contingency who stayed for nearly an hour and who through the beaming smiles on their faces I knew were having a fantastic time.
I just wanted to write this to say thank you for this special opportunity it means a lot to do something so worthwhile and also to continue to prove to myself that this rollercoster of a career choice will always present new challenges and fulfilling satisfying days at 'work'.
